Ear Wax Removal
Earwax is a natural and essential substance produced by our ear canals to protect our ears by trapping and preventing dust, bacteria and other germs from entering and damaging the ear. Occasionally our ears can produce too much earwax which can lead to problems with hearing, ear pain and ear infections. At The Beauty Alchemist, we provide earwax removal treatments performed by our accredited pharmacist technician, at competitive prices. We also offer ear health checks for children aged 3 to 17 years old with prescription services available if required.
Microsuction earwax removal is a safe and effective way to remove earwax build up. Unlike traditional earwax removal methods , such as ear syringing, we use a small suction machine to gently remove earwax - reducing the risk of infection and discomfort.

Some people have an increased chance of earwax issues, which can stem from various medical problems such as trauma/disease affecting the ear or skin problems such as eczema. In addition the use of items such as earphones or hearing aids, and also use of cotton buds, can naturally push against the wax and increase the risk of build up.

Obvious signs of excessive ear wax include:

Ear Pain - resulting from pressure in the ear canal

Cough - pressure from the wax can press on the vagus nerve causing a cough

A "full" ear - hard wax pressing around the ear canal causing sensation of fullness in the ear
Before Treatment:
Microsuction uses a gentle suction tube to remove wax and it most effective when the wax is soft. It is recommended to use medicated olive oil drops to soften the ear wax in the few days preceding an earwax removal appointment. (We can provide this FREE OF CHARGE)
To administer the ear drops, simply lie on the side and pull the ear up and back as you administer. Stay in position for 2 minutes to allow the drops to move through your ear canal.

Avoid eardrops if you have an ear infection or perforated eardrum

Our endoscopic microsuction procedure focusses on meeting the needs of the individual. We will complete the following steps to ensure the effective removal of earwax:

If no earwax is found, you'll only be charged the £10 consultation fee. (This includes a full Ear Health Check)
Ear Wax Removal & Full Ear Health Check fee is £60 for Both Ears.
We Also offer an 'At Home' mobile service for a fee of £75.
PRE-TREATMENT
A consultation with the Pharmacist to assess the ear for Wax and a full health check is conducted. Consent forms completed.
RESULTS
Hearing should become more clearer following the procedure.
Following the full ear health check, should we find any issues, then we shall fully support you in obtaining the right care and refer where necessary.
